  • Statewide representation of real estate firms and agents defending claims for breach of contract, negligence, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and claims under the North Carolina Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act

  • Representation at all trial and appellate levels

Risk Management

  • Advise real estate firms of all types (sales, property management) on compliance with state and federal laws and regulations affecting real estate brokerage, including NC real estate licensing law, NC Real Estate Commission regulations, REALTOR® Code of Ethics, state and federal fair housing laws, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Do Not Call law

  • Assist real estate firms in review and development of transactional and intra-office forms and documents, including office policies, independent contractor agreements, custom forms and forms clauses

  • Formation and licensing of real estate firms

Manufactured Housing Industry

  • Statewide representation of manufactured housing retailers, manufacturers and finance companies defending civil actions for breach of contract, negligence, fraud, and claims under the North Carolina Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

  • Statewide representation of insurance companies defending claims on surety bonds issued to manufactured housing retailers and manufacturers, and claims on policies of insurance and extended warranties issued to purchasers of manufactured homes.

Construction Industry

  • Representation of contractors in civil actions for breach of contract, and actions under the North Carolina mechanics’ lien statute.

Commercial Landlords

  • Statewide representation of commercial landlords in summary ejectment and breach of contract actions
